Our goal is to offer you quality service and a friendly environment in which to do business.  We will try to give you all the information you need in order to make decisions about your insurance coverage without ever feeling pressure to buy. 

Our primary focus is your individual situation and protection.  We will only sell products that provide the best possible coverage and service for the best possible price.  This does not always mean that the lowest price is the best option, and we will help you to understand the differences in coverage forms and allow you to make the best choice for you, and we will be available for questions and concerns. 

We will only contract ourselves with insurance companies of the highest reputation and esteem so that you will feel comfortable with the coverage you purchase.

Company History

You wondering who we are? Well here's a little blurb to fill you in.

In 1936, Mr. Jim V. Hood opened the doors to Hood Insurance Agency. Lawrenceville was a small town, with few insurance options. In 1941 Mr. Hood joined forces with J.H. McGee and formed Hood and McGee. They operated under that name until 1962 when Allen Hood joined his father in the business. Together they forged a name that is synonymous with quality service and integrity.

In 1969, Allen hired a strapping young lad named Pete Martin. He had no insurance experience and really no interest, until he found out that Allen would pay him more money than he was making at Sherwin Williams at the time. Allen and Pete worked to continue the good reputation that Hood Insurance had. After many profitable years together Allen decided to retire and in 1991 passed the torch to Pete. In the following years he hired his nephew, Jason Powell, his son P.K. Martin IV, and his daughter, Anna Martin, as producers, in order to continue the tradition of good service, and to leverage Hood Insurance Agency to make the transition to a 21st century company.

However, Pete has worked tirelessly to continue the relationships he has with his clients and companies, and while we make use of technology, we promise to always make the client's needs number one. We value our relationships as much as our business, and we believe that dedication to our clients will produce longstanding partnerships which are beneficial to both our clients and ourselves.
